Tales

In Hindu mythology, Durga or Parvathi, the consort of Lord Shiva, is depicted as ten armed. The Goddess, whose chief function is to destroy demons and Rakshasas or evil things has the Shakti of all the three Gods i.e. Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. This incarnation has the following story as the background. There was a Rishi named Katyayan who worshipped Durga devi and asked her for a boon that she be born as his daughter. Devi fulfilled the wish of the Rishi and was born as his daughter. In this Avtaar, she killed Mahishasur, the demon. She is depicted as golden complexioned and carrying various weapons in her hands for destruction of evil. Devotion to her makes a man free from all troubles and worries.

History

The Chhatarpur Temple, a magnificent spiritual haven, was founded in 1974 by the revered Baba Sant Nagpal Ji, a spiritual leader deeply devoted to the Goddess. The site of the temple was chosen due to its powerful spiritual vibrations, as believed by many devotees. Baba Sant Nagpal Ji played a pivotal role in establishing this sacred place, making it a center of faith and devotion for countless worshippers. Within the temple complex lies the Shiv-Gauri Nageshwar Mandir, which houses Baba Sant Nagpal Ji’s samadhi (final resting place), built as a tribute to his divine contributions. He attained heavenly bliss in 1998, and his samadhi serves as an enduring symbol of his spiritual legacy. Today, the Chhatarpur Temple stands as a testament to his devotion and continues to inspire spiritual seekers from across the world.
